Wish you a very Happy New Year!
In 2012, we, at the ACM Student Chapter of IIT Delhi (India) in partnership with the ACM student chapter of NUCES (Pakistan), took a unique initiative to bring together people from India and Pakistan to compete in a free and fair coding environment and thus ‘Asia Cup’ was born. Last year, we expanded the event to include various South Asian countries to compete in a free and fair coding environment. The event, dubbed "SAARC coding competition", saw teams from 4 different countries battle it out for top honours (along with cash prizes for the winners!). Our past sponsors include names such as Google, Microsoft, Times of India and Aman ki Asha.
This was the biggest coding event in the Indian subcontinent ever organised and managed entirely by students.
But this year, we plan to step it up a notch and make the event bigger than ever. We plan to include as many countries in the competition as possible. This is basically an on-site ICPC styled coding event that will happen simultaneously at all participating venues. The competition would be conducted on March 15, 2014. A participating institute is required to provide computing facilities and some other such necessities of the competition.
To ensure fair judgement, the panel of judges is a homogeneous composition of members from each participating nation.
